Daniel Craig makes an appearance in the new "Star Wars" film, but the average viewer wouldn't notice. In fact, up until the premiere, Craig vehemently denied any involvement with the movie.
Over the summer Craig interviewed with Entertainment Weekly, where he was confronted about rumors (spread by another "Star Wars" actor, Simon Pegg) that he would have a cameo.
Craig told EW: "Why would I ever bother doing something like that? F—ing hell! Pffft. Play an extra in another movie."
As revealed in EW the day of the "Star Wars" premiere, Craig was lying.

Craig, known for his blonde-Bond iteration, plays a stormtrooper in the film. And not just any stormtrooper, but one who gets jedi-mind-tricked into releasing Rey, the movie's protagonist, from captivity. Craig's stormtrooper is standing guard over Rey, when she instructs him to release her and leave the blast door open.
He does just that, after a bit of "forced" convincing. The audience never sees Craig's face. If you know what to look for, though, his British accent and swaggering walk will be noticeable.
The cameo was a result of convenience. According to EW, the studios where "Spectre" filmed was just next to the set of "The Force Awakens." Craig likely just had to pop over for a bit between filming scenes of his final James Bond movie. His name for the day was trooper, stormtrooper.
