The shooting occurred just before 11 AM local time (12 PM ET). Police believe there was only one shooter involved, and they are treating the case as an act of "domestic terrorism."
The news has been marked by uncertainty, as tactical teams created a perimeter around the temple and witnesses tried to figure out what was going on inside. Police are methodically searching the area to make sure that there are no more threats, and have evacuated all civilians from temple grounds.
