Marvel Studios has released the first trailer for "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" on its star Simu Liu's birthday.
Destin Daniel Cretton is directing the movie about Shang-Chi, who the film's promotion says "must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization."
The character was introduced in the comics in 1973. The film also stars Awkwafina ("Ocean's 8") as Shang-Chi's friend Katy. Tony Leung is playing the Mandarin. A fake version of the character, played by Ben Kingsley, appeared in "Iron Man 3."
"Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings" is scheduled to arrive in theaters on September 3.
