And now, Microsoft's got a new demo for HoloLens. It was shown off Tuesday at an event in New York City. It's called "Project X-ray," and it looks incredible. Here it is:
Not bad, right? We captured the whole thing!
Let's walk through the entire demo of "Project X-ray," straight from Microsoft's NYC event.
The demo started out innocently enough, with a Microsoft staffer wearing HoloLens being brought out on stage:

See that huge camera rig? It's using a combination of cameras to capture both the HoloLens user and what the user sees.

That's how we can see this Infinity Gauntlet-esque blaster appear on the hand of the man wearing HoloLens:
And that's how we can see these terrifying robot insects pull apart the walls and flood through:

The robots don't seem to care for this gentleman's fake apartment setup:

Beyond just shooting at robots and dodging their attacks, the man wearing HoloLens is able to command other types of attacks using his voice:
He could even pull out a fancy shield and block LASERS:

It looks like the insect-like robots THAT WANT TO MURDER YOU evolve as the game progresses. From the tiny floating guys at the start:

Dude is not kidding around:
The full demo is called "Project X-ray," and it's not clear if it'll become a full-on game or not.

But it's also not clear when HoloLens will launch for consumers. The development kit becomes available to developers for $3,000 in the first quarter of 2016.
