Capital One's travel credit cards also allow cardholders to pool rewards with friends and family, making it easier to take a trip together that much sooner. Best of all, Capital One miles are incredibly easy to use by "erasing" eligible purchases from your statement balance.

There's a Capital One credit card to suit any lifestyle or spending habit, including great options for beginners and people rebuilding credit. Many of our picks don't even have annual fees, which makes it easy to keep them in your wallet for the long haul.

Best Credit Card for Luxury Travel: Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card

The Capital One Venture X has been making waves since its launch in late 2021. It's full of amazing benefits worth significantly more than its $395 annual fee if you travel on a regular basis, making it a serious competitor to premium cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve® and The Platinum Card® from American Express.

New cardholders start out with a generous welcome bonus worth $1,275 in travel based on Business Insider's valuations: 75,000 bonus miles when you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.

Cardholders also get up to $300 in annual credits toward flights, hotels, and other travel booked through Capital One; airport lounge access to the Priority Pass network and Capital One lounges, even for authorized users; a 10,000-mile bonus on each account anniversary; and Visa Infinite travel and purchase benefits.

As with other cards that earn Capital One miles, Venture X rewards can be transferred to airline and hotel partners or used to book travel through Capital One, including the exclusive Capital One Premier Collection, where cardholders get benefits like room upgrades and on-property credits at hundreds of hotels and resorts around the world.

The Savor Student Cash Rewards Credit Card is one of the most rewarding cards available to college students, especially those who spend a lot on dining out, groceries, entertainment, and streaming each month.

The card offers new cardholders a $50 cash bonus once you spend $100 on purchases within three months of account opening. It also earns 8% cash back on entertainment purchased through the Capital One Entertainment portal, 5% cash back on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, 3% cash back at grocery stores (excluding superstores like Walmart® and Target®), on dining, entertainment and popular streaming services, plus 1% on all other purchases. These rates are generous by any standard but are particularly favorable for people new to credit, who usually aren't eligible for the best rewards credit cards.

Like the Capital One Quicksilver Student Cash Rewards Credit Card, the Capital One Savor Student Cash Rewards Credit Card comes with surprisingly good perks for a student credit card such as car rental coverage, roadside dispatch, price protection, extended warranty, and access to a concierge service.

Best Secured Credit Card for Earning Cash Back: Capital One Quicksilver Secured Cash Rewards Credit Card

Whether you're starting from scratch or rebuilding your credit, getting a secured credit card is a great stepping stone to building better credit.

The Capital One Quicksilver Secured Cash Rewards Credit Card is ideal if you want to earn rewards while building credit. Although there's no welcome offer, cardholders earn 1.5% cash back on all purchases — a generous return by any standard.

Since this is a secured credit card, you'll have to put down a security deposit equal to the initial credit line you'll be given. You can get started with a deposit as low as $200, and with responsible use over time, you could have the opportunity to upgrade to an unsecured Quicksilver card and get your deposit back.

Best Secured Credit Card for Low Security Deposit: Capital One Platinum Secured Credit Card

If you're trying to improve your credit score after some financial mishaps, the Platinum Secured Credit Card is a good option for you. It's relatively easy to get approved for this card, since you put down a security deposit when you open your card.

As a new cardholder, you'll put down a refundable security deposit of $49, $99, or $200, which determines your initial credit line — how much you can spend on the card. You can get upgraded to a higher credit line after six months of consistent, timely payments in full.

How to Get Approved for the Best Capital One Card

Before you get a credit card, it helps to know if you qualify for the card you want. Credit card preapproval is an efficient way to explore your options with minimal risk to your credit score.

Capital One offers nearly half of the cards recommended in our guide to the best preapproved credit cards. The issuer's preapproval tool generates preapproved credit card offers tailored to your credit profile based on basic personal information such as your monthly income and spending habits.

The tool also evaluates your spending habits and card preferences into account. For example, you can specify if you'd like a card with no annual fee, need a travel rewards credit card, or want to focus on a card that helps you build credit
