Famed chef Nobu Matsuhisa, the force behind one of the world's best known Japanese restaurant chains, is slated to open his first-ever Nobu Hotel on the Las Vegas strip early next year.
And things appear to be moving along. The hotel, which is located within Caesars Palace, launched its website today, and is now taking reservations for rooms beginning in early February 2013. It's scheduled to soft open at the end of this year.
The hotel-within-a-hotel will be a mecca for lovers of Nobu's iconic fare. In addition to the 181-room hotel, the chef is opening his largest ever Nobu Restaurant and Lounge adjacent to the hotel, and guests will have access to 24-hour Nobu room service.
The property itself will have Japanese touches, like hallway carpets featuring a cherry blossom design, fixtures inspired by origami, and Japanese Zen gardens.
The Nobu Hotel is the first-ever celebrity chef-branded hotel venture, according to Caesars Palace. Backers include Robert De Niro and film producer Meir Teper.
