The Brooklyn Nets are now locked in trade discussions with the Orlando Magic for Dwight Howard, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard.
When the Nets traded for Hawks star Joe Johnson last night, everyone assumed they were out of the Howard sweepstakes.
But this morning Broussard reported that the Nets will offer Kris Humphries, Brook Lopez, MarShon Brooks, and three 1st-rounders to Orlando for Howard.
The move would cost the Nets gobs of money in luxury tax penalties over the next few years. But since they're owned by Russian oligarch Mikhail Prokhorov, it's not that big of a deal.
They'd be an instant contender in the East if the deal went through. Their Big 3 would be Howard, Johnson, and (if they're able to resign him) Deron Williams. Gerald Wallace is also on the team.
