Here's the pitch deck cloud communication startup MessageBird used to raise $60 million at a $3 billion valuation to help companies text their customers
Earlier this month, the cloud communications startup MessageBird announced a $200 million funding round that catapulted its valuation to $3 billion.
Launched in Amsterdam in 2011, the firm helps companies around the world easily communicate with their customers using live chat, text, voice messages, and more. Today, MessageBird has roughly 20,000 customers, including Uber, Facebook, and SAP.
MessageBird plans to use the new funding to ramp up its international hiring and possibly acquire other companies as well. Its international presence has always been its strength "from Day One," says founder and CEO Robert Vis. Even in its early days, MessageBird has focused on winning over customers in Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
"Everything has been the idea with being a global international company: That's where we're very strong," Vis told Business Insider. "As much as the world is starting to move more and more towards this, we still don't live in a world where you can text with the business."
