Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings pounded the Italian pair of Greta Cicolari and Marta Menegatti in the Olympic quarterfinals yesterday, 21-13, 21-13.
Halfway through the match, Menegatti became so flustered and overwhelmed that she briefly broke down in tears.
After the match, an unapologetic May-Treanor told Reuters, "I didn't know [she cried] but that's what you want."
The trouble started at the beginning of the second set, when it appeared obvious that the Italians were no match for the Americans:

Right away, the Italians scored, and Cicolari couldn't help but smile:
In the end, the Americans were too much. The 21-year-old Menegatti should be back, and more poised, in 2016.
