Ivanka Trump has gotten a lot of attention recently.
2016-08-08The daughter of Republican nominee Donald Trump is the executive vice president of development and acquisitions for the Trump Organization.
She's also made name for herself as a businesswoman with lifestyle and full-on retail brands.
The aesthetic of her brand is similar to that of Tory Burch. Interestingly enough, she's been featured on Burch's website, too.
Is she the next big thing in retail?
Ivanka Trump's namesake business is growing.

Her collection is sold at Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, and Bloomingdale's, among other places.
She's often pictured wearing her own brand — like at the RNC. Her $138 dress sold out right after her speech introducing her father.

Her brand sells handbags. The leather Soho tote is $325 at Bloomingdale's. Smaller bags can run for less, putting in competition with a Tory Burch, Coach, Kate Spade, or Michael Kors.

...which is fitting, since she frequently uses the hashtag #WomenWhoWork. It's a crucial part of her personal brand.

In fact, she attended the Forbes Women's Summit.

Another huge part of her personal brand? That she's a mother to three children and a wife to real estate developer and New York Observer owner Jared Kushner.
All smiles as we head in to the weekend! #TGIF

Having a "personal brand" is a hallmark of creating a successful organization.
Consider Tory Burch, whom Fast Company touted for having such a strong personal story. In fact, at the time of the article, Neiman Marcus CEO Karen Katz told Fast Company that "from the beginning, Tory has understood what women’s lives are about. She lives the life herself—she’s a busy working mother. She has walked in those shoes." That's not too dissimilar from Trump's personal branding.
Her Instagram, though, is riddled by commenters — some who love Donald Trump, and many who loathe him.

As for her relationship with her father, she said to Harper's Bazaar that "his campaign is his campaign. We have worked together for over a decade, and I love my father, I respect my father. I also understand him and how he thinks."
"I don't talk politics," she said to Harper's Bazaar. "I made that decision at the beginning of this campaign because I am not the candidate." She did, however, speak at the Republican National Convention.
An epic evening. #RNC #RNCinCLE #2016Cle

But there are certain issues she's passionate about...and they relate to women. Should she have the power to do so, that's what she says she'd fix.

"The presidency of the United States is an incredible thing. You have an ability to effectuate change at the highest level. There are issues I am deeply passionate about," she said to Harper's Bazaar, adding, "Well, obviously, I'm a huge advocate for women and women's issues, like child care. The cost of child care is incredibly onerous. In half the country, the cost of child care exceeds the cost of housing. It's the largest expense for households. It's not sustainable or appropriate."
She's spoken out in the past about the importance of being a working mother.
