Idaho junior Sen. Jim Risch successfully fended off Democratic challenger Paulette Jordan in their 2020 Senate race, per a projection by Decision Desk HQ.
As the election wrapped up, Risch recorded his 12th year and second term in the Senate. In 2014, he easily won reelection after defeating his challenger by 30.6 percentage points.
Jordan is a former Idaho state representative and a citizen of the Coeur d'Alene tribe.
In the 2016 presidential election, Idaho voted for President Donald Trump over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton by 31.7 percentage points.
In-person voting closed at 8 p.m. local time on Election Day.
