There are a lot of resume rules out there, and it's hard to know which ones you should follow.

Basically, you have to sell yourself on that piece of paper and convey as much information as possible without overwhelming the person reading it. 

The best resume format to use is dependent on the industry that you're in and the position that you're applying for, but we thought CareerBuilder posted excellent before and after images of a resume that would be a good template for the majority of jobseekers.
