I wear a DDD cup size, so I used to be wary of wireless bras. Too many come with false promises of "supportive comfort" — which may feel nice at first, but only end up stretched out and saggy after only a few washes and wears.
I've tested dozens of bras as part of Business Insider's Reviews team for the last 7 years or so (see our guide to the best bras for large busts), and because I notoriously hate wired styles, I've carved a bit of a niche as an expert in wireless bras. I've compared designs from almost every brand — ThirdLove, SKIMS, Spanx, you name it — but finally, I think I've found the brand making the world's best wireless bras. That brand is Evelyn & Bobbie.
I first wrote this review over a year ago, and I'm back to say that I'm still obsessed with its bras (and underwear). They're totally worth the $98, especially if you want a lifting, shaping bra you can actually wear all day long.

It wasn't totally surprising that the bras blew my mind, because Evelyn & Bobbie's seamless briefs were already the best no-show underwear I'd ever worn. But as soon as I started wearing the bras, I found each one to be more comfortable and supportive than the next, like a literal weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Here are my favorites:
Perfect for tender breasts, this supremely comfortable bra gently lifts not with wire, but with soft, molded cups.
This lifting bra has adjustable straps, a plunge scoopneck, and padded separation.
The Defy Bra is a large bust-friendly bralette that offers full smoothing coverage.
This is a pullover bralette with a fixed band, thinner straps, and lower neckline.
This is the brand's bestselling style. It lifts, separates, and has adjustable straps and a fixed band.
My number one pick is the Evelyn style, which is amazing under T-shirts and with button-downs. It has maximum coverage around my back and arms with a super-thick strap that is so comfortable on my shoulders. I like that the slight V-neck detailing also gives me some room to play with necklines (this is one of the main differences between the Evelyn and the Defy, which has higher coverage on the neckline). Even during my most tender-breasted period of pregnancy, I've been practically living in the Evelyn bra.
The other bras all offer similar levels of comfort, but each one has a little quirk that makes it different from the next. Some have adjustable straps but fixed bands, some have no adjustability, and some have both adjustable straps and bands — deciding on the right one for you depends on what you prefer. I also love the ones with adjustable straps, like the Beyond, because I have a short torso.
I've also tested the plunge bras, but I don't recommend them unless you have very small cups. They just don't seem to sit right on large cups.
Evelyn & Bobbie bras are particularly excellent for large cup sizes, and there's a reason they actually work to hold the weight of your chest.
Large cup sizes should skip the Plunge style and go for the fuller coverage ones. I personally recommend that anyone with heavy breasts opt for styles with thick straps, like the Evelyn Bra pictured above. But if you have a particularly short waist-to-shoulder ratio and a large cup size, you may want to opt for styles with adjustable straps, like the Structured Scoop Bra (adjustable straps, but non-adjustable band) and the Beyond Bra (adjustable straps and band).
But it's not just comfortable bands and straps that set these bras apart.
The bras are designed with a patented material technology that supports the chest from underneath and takes weight off the shoulders.
You can see where I'm pointing in the picture above how the material on the side and bottom of the cup is much more structured than the material at the center of the cup. This helps to hold your breast in place so it doesn't pancake out to the side, and it takes some of the weight off your shoulders by supporting the breast from below.
Evelyn & Bobbie currently only makes wireless bras — meaning they are 100% focused on nailing this particular style. The founder, Bree McKeen, holds several patents for the supportive technology called "EB Core," which is built into each style.
Do Evelyn & Bobbie bras stretch out?
Over a few weeks of wear, yes, you'll experience a little bit of stretching. But they snap back into place with each wash, and the extent to which they do stretch is negligible.
That's because the EB Core support structure features a low-stretch material that's built into the underside of the cups and band, which takes the weight off your shoulders and distributes it more evenly. Supporting the weight of the breast from below is exactly what wired bras attempt to do, but it's a much harder feat to achieve in a wireless style. The specially bonded material that runs through the underside of Evelyn & Bobbie's molded cups is really what sets them apart. Because it doesn't have as much stretch as the rest of the material, it holds the breast's weight and helps shape it so there's no pancaking on the side.
That extra support is also what keeps the band from stretching out, so the bra can maintain its shape for longer than a basic molded cup would (hence no uniboobs or sagging after a few weeks of wear).
Their straps also utilize the same bonded structure technology "to ensure that the weight of your bust sits perfectly on your shoulder-clavicle joint, not over the delicate trapezius muscle," which, according to their website (and my extensive testing), prevents the kind of painful indentations that other bra straps can cause. After wearing each style and comparing it to my regular wireless bras, which have all caused indents on my shoulders, I can confidently back the brand's claims about weight distribution and shoulder comfort.
Do Evelyn & Bobbie bras run small?
Evelyn & Bobbie's bras use alpha sizing and come in a range from XS to 3XL. I was skeptical that this sizing scheme would actually work, but it did.
By some miracle, Evelyn & Bobbie has figured out how to make alpha sizing work rather than offering every bra in an exact band and cup size. As a 36DDD, the brand's sizing chart put me at a size large for each style I tried. I thought there was no way it would fit well, but I was instantly proven wrong, style after style.
The sizing options range from XS to 3XL, making it one of the more inclusive bra brands out there. And it's not just the bras that come in a diverse size range. Evelyn & Bobbie's underwear comes in two sizes as well, with one fitting a 0-14 and the other a 16-24. So its efforts to serve a wide range of bodies seem to be part of the brand's DNA.
Update after over a year of wearing Evelyn & Bobbie bras
I am still obsessed with my Evelyn & Bobbie bras, and they continue to be pretty much the only ones I ever wear (save for when I need a special strapless bra for occasion dresses). I love the Evelyn style for comfort, but as I mentioned earlier, I really like styles with adjustable straps because I have a short torso.
They haven't stretched out over time the way most other brands do, but they do still accommodate changes in my cup size during different times of the month (and now through pregnancy).
The bottom line
Priced at $98 each, these bras are not cheap, but they are beyond worth it. The comfort is unparalleled and, in my many years of testing wireless bras, I wouldn't hesitate to call these the best wireless bras ever.
