"1883," a prequel series to the Paramount Network TV show "Yellowstone," debuts exclusively on Paramount Plus on December 19. The show stars country music artists Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, marking the first time the married couple has appeared together in a scripted series.

McGraw and Hill play James and Margaret Dutton, the founders of the Yellowstone Ranch at the center of the popular franchise. The series follows the family's migration from Texas to Montana, exploring the hardships settlers faced on America's western frontier. Stars like Billy Bob Thornton and Tom Hanks are scheduled to appear during the first season.

Like "Yellowstone," the new "1883" series is created by Taylor Sheridan. Sheridan is known for writing films like "Sicario," "Hell or High Water," "and "Those Who Wish Me Dead." "Yellowstone" first premiered in 2018 and is currently airing its fourth season.
