A breakdown of everything in the new 'Game of Thrones' season 6 trailer

The trailer opens on Castle Black. Men with crossbows are aiming at the door Alliser Thorne and company were trying to break into.

Jon Snow's body is inside that room.

He's there along with Davos, Ghost, and some Snow-loyal Night's Watch brothers. They're preparing to fight.

What is Melisandre up to? Most fans hope she's preparing to resurrect Jon.

It looks like Davos safely makes it out of the room. There's a Stark banner behind him, so we know he must be in the company of Stark men.

This shot of Sansa may be from the same scene. Note the awesome Stark direwolf embroidered on her dress. She's clearly taken back ownership of her family's power.

"It's all I think about," Sansa says. "What was taken from me."

HBO

Walder Frey appears as we're brought back to the Red Wedding, when her brother and mother were murdered.

The scene cuts to Ramsay wiping a bloody knife. Did he just kill someone? Flay them? Torture?

Littlefinger appears to have run into someone in the North. Sansa and company?

"There's no hiding from this, we have to fight," Davos says. The sigil in the background looks like House Mormont, a northern house. He might be rallying the lords to his side for a coming battle.

There are a ton of epic battle shots. Here's an overview, with Winterfell looming in the background and flayed men on burning crosses in the field.

The battle appears to be the Boltons against Stark loyalists and the wildlings.

Tormund Giantsbane is there. "I thought he was the man to lead us through the Long Night, but I was wrong," he says. Is he talking about Jon Snow or Mance Rayder, his former king?

Either way, Tormund is in the thick of this battle.

Now let's head to Braavos, where Arya has been blinded by Jaqen H'ghar.

"A girl has been given a second chance," he tells her. "There will not be a third."

We also get a first real look at how the faces are removed from dead bodies.

Jaqen cuts around a man's head, and peels off the face.

HBO

Arya looks like she's messing around with a third chance. She has a brutal fight with the Waif, her fellow Faceless Men trainee.

This looks intense. Will Arya's time at the House of Black and White come to an end?

A bloody handprint we see is ominous. That is almost certainly Arya's hand, since it looks just like the sleeve of an outfit she wore in a different trailer.

Speaking of ominous, this group of Dothraki spotting Drogon is chilling.

He soars overhead, probably coming to Daenerys' rescue.

HBO

Daenerys is not in a good place. We see a group of women tear her dress from her body.

She's being presented to someone. Probably the Dosh Khaleen, a holy group of widows once married to Khals. Daenerys was supposed to take her place among them when Khal Drogo died, but she never did. Are they punishing her for disobedience?

Meanwhile, Jorah is still a walking greyscale bomb. "I know what happens," he says.

He looks concerned for good reason. The disease is deadly and highly contagious.

HBO

Let's move back west, to King's Landing. Cersei and Tommen are having a tense conversation.

Cersei's new Kingsguard, Robert Strong, looks menacing and creepy.

HBO

From the looks of it, he basically pulls this guy's head off.

HBO

That's a lot of blood. Cersei is getting the violence she so desires.

HBO

We also have a first look at Loras Tyrell, in prison for his homosexuality.

His sister, Margaery, gets to visit, and the two embrace. What will come of their trial?

Cersei is hell-bent on disarming the Faith. "Stand at the head of our army where you belong," she says. "Show them what Lannisters are, what we do to our enemies."

We think that she was talking to Jaime, who is seen here next to Mace Tyrell.

HBO

They appear to be taking on the Faith at the Sept of Baelor.

HBO

Inside the Sept, Jaime speaks with the High Sparrow. "You would spill blood in this holy place?" the High Sparrow asks of Jaime.

Jaime, hand on his sword, doesn't hesitate.

HBO

"The gods won't mind," he replies. "They spill more blood than the rest of us combined."

HBO

Then there's this shot of a Lannister army camp. Perhaps this is what Cersei was also referring to. Jaime is likely out in the Riverlands, leading the Lannister army in diplomatic missions. This was his plot in the books instead of going to Dorne like in season five.

Podrick is at the same camp. A man grabs him by the neck. Upon closer inspection, we think this is just Bronn messing with the boy. They used to be buddies back when Tyrion was the Hand, remember?

We know Brienne and Pod are in the Riverlands because of the House Tully banner in the background. That's Catelyn's former house, the castle of Riverrun.

Back in Meereen, Tyrion greets a group of men. "Do you like games, little man?" one of them says.

HBO

Clearly, the Sons of the Harpy are still murdering in the streets of Meereen.

HBO

But Varys and Tyrion encounter a new potential enemy. Who is Varys giving the stink eye to?

HBO

This woman, a new Red Priestess to the Lord of Light, basically a Meereenese version of Melisandre. You can see the same necklace at her throat.

And here's a wider shot of her leaving the throne room.

Meanwhile, Tyrion educates his allies on dragons. "Dragons do not do well in captivity," he says.

"How do you know this?" Missandei asks.

HBO

"That's what I do," Tyrion coolly replies. "I drink and I know things."

HBO

Tyrion is committed to releasing the two remaining dragons, Viserion and Rhaegal.

HBO

But they aren't pleased. One dragon gets ready to unleash a fireball.

HBO

And there it goes. We can only hope Tyrion managed to duck behind a pillar in time.

Speaking of fire, the Night's King and fellow White Walkers are facing a huge flame.

What are they preparing for? We hear Davos say: "The real war is between the living and the dead. And make no mistake — the dead are coming."

Look at the close-up of their dead, rotting horses. Spook level is officially at 100.

Are Bran, Meera, and Hodor in danger from this White Walker army? Meera looks up at at someone — or something ...

Bran and Bloodraven are connected to the weirwood roots, using the trees as passageway for their visions.

Bran seems deep into this dream.

We think he's seeing this fight, a flashback scene known to book readers as the Tower of Joy.

Here's a new shot of Yara, climbing a hill in the Iron Islands.

She looks more forlorn than we last saw her. If the book plot we think they're following has happened, then it means her father, Balon, was killed.

Finally, we also see this ship, which seems to be stuck in a storm.

We think Sam and Gilly are inside, on their way to Oldtown, where he'll train to become a maester. He looks a bit queasy.
