The highest viewership for the series prior to this was 6.6 million viewers who had tuned into the series' penultimate episode.
Over on Showtime, 1.9 million people tuned in to the "Homeland" season 3 premiere.
The "Breaking Bad" finale also beat numbers for ABC, CBS, and, FOX during the 9 p.m. slot.
Family Guy (FOX): 5.3 million viewers
Revenge (ABC): 8 million
The Amazing Race / The Good Wife (CBS): 8.9 million
